[Origin]

Dove Files was born from friendship, shared inquiry, and a desire to explore the invisible threads binding art, spirit, and story.

We are three women connected by the setting of New York City. Luna and Aeva began weaving their own cosmology as roommates — inhabiting a world that oscillated between analog and digital realms while attending Parsons. A few years later, Luna met Alexis in a course titled “Art and the Occult.” Over the span of a semester, the class unraveled the dominant art-historical canon, revealing esoteric, spiritual, and often overlooked dimensions underpinning creative lineages.

Dove Files arises from years of conversation, study, and lived experience — the convergence of our relationships. It is both a response and a remedy to an art world too often driven by market value rather than meaning; for this reason, our work centers on creating identities that trace personal history, lineage, symbolism, and story.

What began as a seed has since grown into a creative studio, living archive, and sanctuary for the unseen.

[Etmology]

As soft-winged envoy of Venus, doves carry upon their wings beauty, love, and the generative spark; evoking oracular vision by communing with the spirit of the mind & heart. Files, in contrast, suggest those analytical drawers of memory that store blueprints, artworks, and archives – the architecture of creative thought.

Dove Files emerges at the convergence of these two energies: the meeting of beauty and structure, desire and documentation, softness and analysis. A vision that layers the non-rational, mythic imagination upon consensual reality to propagate new growth to from ancient rootstock.
